9 Academy Awards came to India! By Alok Vats of I News India Today was the greatest day for India, the movie Slumdog Millionaire and Smile Pinki brought lots of joy to the nation. For the first time any movie which was so closely related to India, won the 8 prestigious Oscar awards. During my life time I saw the first Oscar award coming to our nation. Slumdog won the 8 awards including Best Director, Best Original Score, Best Original Movie and others, while Smile Pinki won the award for best Short Documentary. Smile Pinki is a documentary movie based on the story of the sweat little child Pinki from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, while Slumdog is the story of the Jamaal Malik, who was from the slums of the Mumbai and later won a quiz competition. Any ways the Oscar Awards which came to India brought so many joys, happiness, responsibility and expectations. We all wish the crew members of both the movie.
